Water Games YSA Activity/
Purpose: Fostering Unity;
Location: Arima 3-7pm
3:00 – Icebreakers – Arima:
Raymond & Shantell
back-up: Giant Beach Ball Volleyball (net-duck tape
and stakes) use net later/ YSA's arrive at 1:00 to fill up water balloons
3:30 – Theme presentation – Daniel/Daviana
– chapel/ All gather for a twenty minute devotional based around the following scripture:
“And they were called the
church of God, or the church of Christ, from that time forward. And it came to
pass that whosoever was baptized by the power and authority of God was added to
his church. …
“And he commanded them that they should teach nothing save it
were the things which he had taught, and which had been spoken by the mouth of
the holy prophets.
“Yea, even he commanded them that they should preach nothing
save it were repentance and faith on the Lord, who had redeemed his people.
“And he commanded them that there should be no contention one
with another, but that they should look forward with one eye, having one faith
and one baptism, having their hearts knit together
in unity and in love one towards another.
“And thus he commanded them to preach. And thus they became the
children of God.”

4:00 – 6:00 Water Games
Theme Application: (Water Relays) All
of the water relays require that we do our best individually to carry our part
and accomplish a shared common goal; this is a vital part of achieving unity.

Sponge Bob –Line up in two teams, 2 buckets each. (At one end and the other) Fill up sponge, carry overhead, and run to empty bucket, squeeze out, and give to next person in line. First team to transfer all the water wins.

Head soak to the finish line
Hot potato toss – Three-4 teams, stand three feet apart, start at front, toss to next
person and get into bucket at end without popping. Must start over if drops or pops.

Transition to teams for capture the flag: Stand across from partners – all those on one side are one team and all those on the other are team 2.
Theme Application: (Capture the flag) Another vital part of achieving unity among the Saints is the Lord did not set up an individual study program to achieve exaltation, but a community of Saints in His church to work together, cooperate, communicate and coordinate efforts to lift the entire group closer to Him and eternal life. Working as a team, not concerned about individual glory, but working together toward a common goal demonstrates this principle beautifully.
Capture the flag – cones for prisons on each side, flag on a pole, rope for center line, captains – capture other teams flag.

Theme application: (Slip and Slide) This activity requires confidence and certainty. Our confidence waxes strong in the presence of God as we clothe our lives with virtue. Ultimate confidence is returning to our Father in Heaven prepared to feel His approbation, “Well done, thou good and faithful servant.” Let us live our lives to achieve that confidence.

6:00- Dinner
This activity had 60 YSA in attendance. Some members of other faiths and less-actives joined us. It was a great one to reach out and invite friends to attend and the YSA reps did a great job contacting new friends.
